Mgr David Macaire est originaire de Martinique. Entré chez les dominicains, il a été ordonné prêtre en 2001, puis élu prieur de la Sainte-Baume en 2011 avant d'être ordonné évêque le 7 mars 2015. Il est actuellement Archevêque de Saint-Pierre et Fort-de-France.
L’archidiocèse de Saint-Pierre et Fort-de-France est métropolitain et ses diocèses suffragants sont Basse-Terre et Pointe-à-Pitre et Cayenne.
