Le Foyer de Charité « Sainte Marie » est situé au Canapé-Vert, sur une colline surplombant Port-au-Prince, la capitale d'Haïti. Au Sud-ouest de Cuba, Haïti fait partie des Grandes Antilles dans la mer des Caraïbes.
Le Foyer de Charité est un lieu paisible de prière et de silence, ouvert à tous ceux qui viennent pour des retraites spirituelles et qui éprouvent le besoin d`un temps de réflexion et de recul. Au cours de leur séjour, les personnes accueillies peuvent faire l’expérience d’un contact personnel et intime avec le Dieu Vivant. Ils bénéficient d’une ambiance familiale, grâce aux membres de Foyer et du père Joseph Philor smm, qui animent ensemble les diverses activités du Foyer.
Les retraitants sont portés par la prière des enfants de l’école fondamentale, faisant partie de l’œuvre sociale du Foyer : la « Communauté Sainte Marie », village d’implantation du Foyer de Charité.
